Atlas Analytics

Self-serve product analytics with sub-second queries over billion-row events

A multi-tenant analytics platform where teams define events, build funnels, and query aggregated results without writing SQL. The interesting work was in the query layer: a columnar store, incremental rollups, and a caching strategy that kept p95 under 400ms while writes stayed continuous.

Atlas Analytics

▸Incremental hourly rollups cut p95 query latency from 4.2s to 380ms

▸Virtualised data grid renders 100k rows without measurable frame drops

▸Buffer-based ingestion absorbs 12k events/sec with backpressure handling

▸URL-synced filter state makes every saved view shareable and reproducible

Traversal

Interactive JSON inspector that renders 100k-node documents without hanging

A developer utility for exploring large JSON payloads — schema inference, path search, and a virtualised tree that stays responsive on documents far past the point where naive renderers choke.

  • Web Worker parsing keeps the UI at 60fps on 40MB+ documents
  • Windowed tree virtualisation renders 100k+ nodes smoothly

Relay

Realtime collaborative boards with conflict-free concurrent editing

A multiplayer planning tool where multiple people edit the same board simultaneously. The core problem was convergence: concurrent edits had to merge without losing work, and presence had to feel immediate rather than eventual.

  • Operational transform layer converges concurrent edits without data loss
  • Optimistic drag-and-drop reconciles against server acknowledgement

Meridian Design System

Accessible React primitives adopted across four production surfaces

A component library and token pipeline shared by multiple product teams — built around strict accessibility guarantees and a theming layer that stays in sync with design.

  • 48 primitives with keyboard and screen-reader behaviour covered by tests
  • Single token source generates Tailwind config and CSS custom properties

Pulse

LSTM forecasting service with backtesting built into the interface

A time-series forecasting tool for retail demand, pairing a sequence model served behind a Python API with an interface designed around how analysts actually evaluate forecasts.

  • Walk-forward validation reports honest error instead of split-optimistic numbers
  • Interval bands expose forecast uncertainty at every horizon

Ledger

Storefront rebuilt around Core Web Vitals without cutting features

A performance rebuild of a mid-sized commerce frontend — same catalogue, same checkout, but a fraction of the JavaScript and a materially better experience on slow connections.

  • Client JavaScript reduced by 62% through route-level splitting
  • Lighthouse performance moved from 54 to 97 on mobile throttling

About Me

I'm Dipendra — a software developer based in Kathmandu who has spent the last three years building customer-facing web products for SaaS companies and product studios, mostly in React and Next.js.

My work usually sits where interface design meets system design: component libraries that survive contact with real content, data-fetching and caching strategies that keep large views responsive, and the accessibility work that lets people actually use what we ship. I care about the last 10% — focus management, empty states, loading skeletons, and layouts that hold up on a 360px screen.

Outside of product work I maintain a few open-source utilities, write about rendering performance, and mentor junior developers making the jump from coursework to production code.

Interface architecture

Component APIs and state boundaries that stay maintainable as features accumulate — typed contracts, predictable data flow, and composition over configuration.

Performance & Core Web Vitals

Bundle budgets, route-level code splitting, image and font pipelines, and render profiling to keep LCP and INP well inside the thresholds users actually feel.

Accessibility as a baseline

Semantic markup, keyboard traversal, focus management, and screen-reader passes treated as release criteria rather than a follow-up ticket.

API design & integration

Typed contracts across REST and GraphQL boundaries, resilient caching, optimistic updates, and error states designed as carefully as the happy path.

Toolkit

The tools I reach for regularly, separated by what I actually use them for.

Career

Product teams I've worked with, the scope I owned, and the measurable outcomes that came out of it.

  • Senior Software Engineer @ Northbeam Analytics

    Full-Time
    Mar 2024 — Present•Remote (Nepal)

Front-end lead for the query and exploration surface of a B2B analytics product. I own the component architecture shared by four squads, and work directly with backend engineers on the contracts those components depend on.

    Key contributions

    • Rebuilt the query interface around incremental rollups, taking p95 result time from 4.2s to under 400ms
    • Introduced a typed contract layer that eliminated a recurring class of integration bugs across three squads
    • Cut median bundle size 41% by moving heavy dependencies behind dynamic imports
    • Drove the accessibility audit to zero blocking findings ahead of an enterprise procurement review
    Next.jsReactTypeScriptTanStack QueryPlaywrightDatadog
  • Software Engineer @ Halcyon Labs

    Full-Time
    Jul 2023 — Feb 2024•Hybrid · Kathmandu

Built and maintained the customer-facing web app for a logistics platform — tracking views, driver dispatch tooling, and an internal operations console used daily by dispatchers.

    Key contributions

    • Shipped a real-time tracking view handling 6k concurrent sessions without degradation
    • Replaced a polling architecture with server-sent events, cutting infrastructure cost 31%
    • Owned the design system migration across 40+ screens with no visual regressions
    • Reduced crash-free sessions from 98.1% to 99.7% by instrumenting and prioritising error triage
    ReactTypeScriptNode.jsPostgreSQLRedisJest
  • Frontend Developer Intern @ Cobalt Systems

    Internship
    Jan 2023 — Jun 2023•Remote

Supported a small agency team delivering client marketing sites and web apps, with a bias toward the projects that needed real engineering rather than templating.

    Key contributions

    • Delivered five client sites to production with a 95+ Lighthouse average
    • Converted a legacy jQuery booking flow to a React component with full keyboard support
    • Set up visual regression testing on a project that had none, catching two layout bugs pre-launch
